Every Swanky Mom I know, and some not-so-swanky, are talking about the “See Kai Run” shoes. The soft leather, flexible soled shoes come in a million different colors and designs and are targeted at little guys from pre-walkers through toddlers, though there are several styles I’d like to order in MY size. While they are cute, I never quite understood the fuss until I was asked to review a brand new pair from the fall line.
I love checking out all the fun new stuff, so naturally I was excited to get my hands on a pair of size 9’s for Julian. I was interested to see if “See Kai Run” equates roughly to “See Julian not fall on his face.” My two and a half year old has spent the walking months of his life picking himself up from what the doctors say is an “emerging sense of balance.” Grandma even bought him the best Stride Rite shoes she could find and shipped them to us from Alaska, but nothing has really helped… Until the day we got those See Kai Run shoes in the mail.
It may be early August, but we are in “back to preschool” mode around our house. Brand new blue jeans, leggings, sweaters and T shirts already abound in my daughters closet and we just began the best part about “back to school”: accessory shopping!
Hats and mittens are a back to school must-have and for stylish Sarah the decision to go with a Zooni hat was easy, the hard part was deciding which one. We were given an adorable “Puppy Love” hat to review and Sarah loves it. She’s already wearing it even though it’s still summer and 85 degrees!
I am eight months pregnant with my first child and like many eco-friendly moms-to-be I want to keep as much plastic out of my child’s world as possible. I am determined that he isn’t going to cut his first tooth on something synthetic, plastic or made in China!
Which is why I am so excited about Zubels! I was asked to review some of their products, and while my little bundle of joy wont be here for another month, I already LOVE both of the creatively inspired, hand-knit toys I was given, so much so I promptly ordered three more toys for his room and crib.
The stylish new collection of contemporary cards, announcements and invitations from Paper Culture have me as excited as any note cards I’ve seen in a while. And having a husband is full time ministry we send a lot of cards!
The baby announcements are a welcome alternative to the boring announcements that everyone sends. I always want to be the one to send something special that will make honor section of my friend’s refrigerator. You can personalize your greeting to by combining your own photo with sweet contemporary illustrations in color combos right out of the latest Wallpaper* magazine. There are also some fantastic kids' birthday invitations (love It's not Fred Flintstone!), so much I want to use it for my husband’s birthday party. They have great selection of personalized baby shower invitations that while contemporary, will steal heart felt praises from your friends.
We all know as moms that taking care of our teeth is important. But there are many different types of toothbrushes on the market today, its hard to know what works best for you.I came in contact with an amazing new toothbrush called Radius. I have been using it over the last few weeks, my teeth & gums feel cleaner and my sensitivity has gone down dramatically. My husband and I both love the “Intelligent” style but they have many different types depending on your age and needs.
Netherlands-based Mutsy, recognized for its modernistic stroller designs featuring a distinctive modular, flexible system, introduces the Mutsy Duoseat, a front and rear seating unit that can be used with their popular Mutsy 4Rider stroller chassis.
Mutsy’s solution for parents with two young children (mom can now use her 4Rider chassis even after the arrival of a new member in the family!), the Duoseat is a special insert with two seats that can be combined with the 4Rider stroller chassis. The Duoseat’s compact styling offers the benefit of being able to transport two children without the hindrance of a double width stroller. The seat allows for easy turning in tight places and full access even through the narrowest of doors.
Julian first met “Frog” fresh from the mail on a Saturday afternoon. Julian is still at the age where what something is often gets mixed up with it's name. The blanket was soft and ready for love right out of the box, so he and Frog played happily on the kitchen floor while I finished making dinner. We had to negotiate over Frog’s presence at the dinner table; Julian wanted his new friend close by where he would inevitably become a napkin. Mommy prevailed with her idea of giving Frog his own chair. Just try to pull that off with a normal blanket!
"Frog" has a nice silky backing and cuddly, fuzzy face. He is just right for snuggling on the sofa or keeping Julian company in the car seat. The kid-friendly proportions of the small version make it easy for Julian to spread him out so he can see the face, but the lightweight fabric make it equally inviting to envelope Frog in his trademark vice-like hug.
As I have now come to the conclusion that summer is upon us! Which means every woman’s biggest nemesis….”The Swimsuit”! We all want to prance around on the beach in our purple polka dotted bikini however as I hit the dressing room I decide I am NEVER coming out! This sinking fear of people seeing the wrong side of my dimples leads me to my point…
We’ve replace our plastic water bottles with stainless steel, eat pesticide free berries and drink organic milk, but what about our bedding?
The same plastics we loathe in our old water bottles can be found in our blankets we snuggle under the couch in, or tuck our children under when we kiss them goodnight! Organic cotton is grown like organic foods, there are systems in place to help eliminate harmful toxins and pesticides. If you don’t want to eat these toxins, why would you let your baby sleep in them!
Start your child’s healthy environment off right with Organic Blankees! Created by Ann Heaney, this NY based company, the Organic Blankees line is “whimsical and fun but at the same time free from all the toxins found in traditional blankets.“
Ann was generous enough to send me one of her Organic Blankee bedding sets to try, complete with blanket and crib sheets. First of all, they were packaged beautifully! Even before washing they were amazingly soft and I knew we were in for a real treat.
Not only is the bedding we received beautiful, trimmed but with sustainable charmeuse. It can also be monogrammed! I feel good about not only created by a mom but is also better for my kids AND the environment!
Organic Blankees are a sustainable choice for you and your family, and that baby shower gift you need to buy this summer!
Organic Blankees provided me with their products for the purpose of this review. I was allowed to keep the product but the opinion here is my own.
Usually getting up with the Sun can mean not getting enough sleep – that’s not fun for anyone Most kids in the 3-5 age range are still trying to understand the concept of day and night.
That’s what is so great about the Good Nite Lite. It’s designed so YOU can set the friendly, glowing moon/sun face to the times you want them to come on. Even if your child hasn’t learned to tell time yet, they can still learn that if Mr. Sun hasn’t come up yet, they have to stay in bed – which just might mean those 5am wake up times may be over AND weekends just might mean sleeping in again! How swanky!
Traditional nightlights stay on all night, which can send a mixed message. Not the case with this fun little lite! The Good Nite Lite has been a wonderful addition to my son’s bedroom – the real question is, how far can I push wake up time?
In case you are wondering, the Good Nite Lite shuts off during the day to conserve energy. The only bummer is it covers both outlets when plugged in. I’d love to be able to have it higher up on the wall too (like the sun and moon!)
If you are missing sleep, you need a Good Nite Lite! Skeptical? The Good Nite Lite guarantees that your child's sleeping routine will improve within 30-days and offers a full refund of the purchase price if there are no changes as long as the product is returned in the original packaging.
I was provided a Good Nite Lite for the purpose of this review. I was allowed to keep the product and the opinion stated here is my own. (Kerri J)
